David Barros was born in 1992 in Lisbon. Since an early age he developed a strong interest for the moving image specifically in the areas of Directing and Scriptwriting. He studied Film and Video at Univesidade Lusófona in Portugal and started working as a second assistant director at the production company Krypton Films for a wide varety of brands like Sagres, Peugeot and Unitel.
Afterwards he moved on to RTP (Portugal’s main National Television) to work as a first assistant director in a wide variety of tv shows like 5 para a Meia Noite, A Nossa Tarde, Sociedade Civil and the 2018 Prémios Sophia award show (the main Portugal Film Awards).
Right now he is a director, editor and videographer for the Portuguese Paralympic Committee by writing and directing a wide variety of film campaings and making event reports. He was a videographer for the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games and for the Deaflympics Caxias do Sul 2021.
In parallel David has it’s own Project named BULB where he directs short films and music videos. His most well known works are the short films “Slicer” that has won 12 international film awards including the Best Horror and Best Super Short Film Awards at the Hollywood Gold Awards and “Persistence” that has won the Best Micro Film Award at the Golden Nugget International Film Festival and The Best Director Super Short Film Award at the New York Movie Awards.
David also has a published book named “Lisboa Vista Panorâmica” that is a photographic journey of the portuguese capital.
David is currently in pre-production of his next short film and writing his first feature film.
